Knjiga iz kolekcije home & lifestyle. V 50. In 60. Letih 20. Stoletja se je večina afriških držav osamosvojila od svojih kolonialnih sil, arhitektura pa je postala eno glavnih sredstev, s katerimi so novonastale države izražale svojo nacionalno identiteto.
- Afriški modernizem raziskuje tesno povezavo med arhitekturo in izgradnjo države v Gani, Senegalu, Slonokoščeni obali, Keniji in Zambiji. Vključuje sto stavb s kratkimi opisnimi besedili, fotografijami, lokacijskimi načrti ter izbranimi tlorisi in prerezi. Veliko večino fotografij sta pred kratkim za prvo izdajo knjige posnela Iwan Baan in Alexia Webster. Njune fotografije dokumentirajo stavbe v njihovem sedanjem stanju. Vsaka država je predstavljena z uvodnim besedilom in kronologijo zgodovinskih dogodkov. Nadaljnji eseji o postkolonialni Afriki ter posebnih vidikih in temah, prav tako ilustrirani s slikami in dokumenti, dopolnjujejo to odlično knjigo.
